Two Classes
7-8pm Ballroomin’ Blues: Well behaved is seldom memorable. Learn to dance some Bad A** Blues!
Blues dancing has two primary styles, Jukin’ and Ballroomin’. This class will focus on the smoother, Ballroomin’ style, but the basics learned in this class will also serve anyone who wants to explore the jazzier moves of Jukin’.
Seems like whenever I go out dancing I get comments from West Coast dancers that they like the Blusey style of my WCS. I know Jason gets the same comments. Not only is it cool and WAY FUN, but it seriously expands the kinds of music you can dance to. It no longer needs to be what is “normally” considered a WCS song. Which means more dancing! And who doesn’t like that!
So here it is. The long awaited class series that will address this fun and innovative style of dancing. Anybody can take this series, but it was especially designed with WCS dancers in mind.
We will focus on the Blues movements and style that will best combine with your WCS. This Blues fundamentals class series is open to everyone, including new dancers.
8-9pm West Coast Blues: Break out of the ordinary!
Learn to take the Blues moves learned in the Ballroomin’ class and mix it into your West Coast Swing for some truly memorable dances. Don’t just take your swing dancing to another level, take it to a whole new dimension.
*** To take the West Coast Blues class you will need to have had at least one series of West Coast Swing and one series of Blues (or currently be taking the Ballroomin’ Blues class).
9-10pm Open Social Dancing
Cost:
$35 for either class series ($5 per class) when series is purchased.
$60 for both.
$10 per class drop-in
Space is limited. Pre-register for this class to reserve your spot and save an additional $5. You can still pay at the door on the first night of class if paying by cash or check. You can pay by credit card on the registration site.
